Terror and tears again !

I was watching a movie when my cell beeped - "Watch TV....Terror attack in Mumbai again".I log on to the net.It says firing on and 15 injured.I dont even read it fully and curse the Shivsena.I continue watching the movie, shut my laptop and go into my world of dreams when my fellow Indians in Mumbai who were innocent and vulnerable were subjected to what is now called the worst terror attacks ever. When the media was busy covering all this , when people sat glued to the TV , when desperate families in Mumbai tried calling their relatives , I was dreaming of a nice future. The only thing I knew was that my term 1 is over and I need rest.

Next morning I walk out of the hostel picking the economic times - " Terror rips apart Mumbai , 78 dead".We are shocked !! (Thats it.I coulndt do anything.Called friends and family In Mumbai to know if they were safe").I read through the newspaper and we watched the videos of the attack in class.

Did I do something about it? Could my friends do anything about it?
We are all helpless. All we can do is to keep refreshing the ibnlive website for more news and not go out coz Bangalore is also on high alert.

Amitabh Bachan in his blog says "Last night, as the events of the terror attack unfolded in front of me I did something for the first time and one that I had hoped never ever to be in a situation to do. Before retiring for the night, I pulled out my licensed .32 revolver, loaded it and put it under my pillow. For a very disturbed sleep"

Vrushali Haldipur of Cnn Ibn says "Words almost seem pointless at times like these, but it's the only way to try and make sense of what is happening to Bombay now"

All of us who are not the direct victims can only feel helpless and hope that peace is restored asap.We can also get angry on the ruthless terrorists and blame terrorism which doesnt even have proper definition. No wonder! How else can fear in different countries & different languages be explained.Though the cloud is full of tears, there is still a silver lining - The Indian army is doing its best to get the country out of this crisis.

For one of the speeches in school "If i were the defense minister" , I concluded saying "If u want peace,be prepared for war". Today I know the impact of it but I am a helpless Indian who can only pray for the Mumbaikars and hope that they show the famous Mumbaiyya spirit and come out of this crisis.

PS:Log on to www.ibnlive.com, light a candle and take a pledge to fight terror

Very well said Indu..
I'd just like to salute all the brave officers and commandos who've lost there lives trying to save the innocent and to capture the terrorists. Wat the govt will do abt these activities is something we'l just have to wait & watch. I hope atleast now Sonia's YESMAN Mr. Manmohan singh wil stop dancing to Sonia Gandhi's chords and take the necessary action, using his own intellect for 1c. Al that we can do for the many lives that were taken as a consequence of this act, is pray for their departed souls. May their souls rest in peace!

I,m touched after reading ur message....well one thing i would like to share is... I Still don't understand "THE IDEA BEHIND TERRORISM"...why and for what???? what on earth inspires them to be destroyers..n..killers... In hindu mythology we believe that ...even for a leaf to move there has to be god's consent... then why god supports such human beings.. how can he even create men like them????....if that is true... should we conclude that its god's way of punishing people... i really keep pondering about these things... well no one can answer except GOD ..himself........all i can do is ... pray him.., to be more considerate and to take care of this BEAUTIFUL WORLD he has created..n.. put in sense of humanity , love and peace in minds of those who have turned be butchers....may every soul rest in peace who has lost his/her life ....(meaninglessly)

Ya thats very true.. We feel helpless and we get angry when such things happen :( I was very moved when i saw the pictures in the paper. But can we find a way in which we can indirectly contribute to fight against terrorism? Can there be any way??
