All of us waited for the release of Dilli 6 and the obvious reasons were Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra , AB Jr , Mozart Rehman , Masakalli n above all DILLI.Par chali nahi :-( There ends the job of a movie critic.Lets see what I have got to say....
I still believe that the movie had everything going for it and even the story line.To an audience who are inevitably spiritually inclined(INDIANS) , driving sense with Ramayan in the backdrop is nothing short of an amazing idea.An NRI visiting India and trying to solve problems in SWADES is acceptable but if its the question of communal riots (OMG!!) , the crowd is blind.I also heard people say that the main protagonist of the movie is the MONKEY MAN.Now why is that not acceptable?How did you like tuffy in Hum Aapke Hain Kaun??
The director touched the right chord and thats why people could not digest it.In a country where people are still involved in queuing in front of a flagpost from where they thought(thought) sacred water was flowing or getting their girls married at the age of 14 or for that matter where the two predominant religions are constantly waiting to boo down the other , I dont think there is anything wrong to use a monkeyman to drive sense.Om Prakash Mehra's targeting was right , but no one wanted to take it.The youth thought , monkeyman is stupid and the aam aadmi thought its a waste of money.I suggest , watch it again and believe me its not just a movie.Its a message.
